As an animal psychic, I share a telepathic communication with animals and all of nature – just like the shamans of the native peoples around the world.

The story of Mystic Hearts came from my beloved horse Sollie who passed away in May 2002. Sollie and I shared a special bond – a soul mate type of bond. (You can read about our relationship here.)

After he died, Sollie gifted me this story from the spirit world, and urged me to write it. It’s the story of how Erin, an ordinary, big-hearted woman journeys through her grief over the loss of her animal companion – in this case, her horse – and finds wholeness and happiness through the path of the ancient mysteries.

Despite grief being a springboard from which Erin journeys, Mystic Hearts is far from depressing or sad. It’s a celebration of the human spirit, with humour, music, heart and soul.

It’s a tale from our hearts to yours.

Perhaps, like Erin, you will learn a bit more about animal spirituality. I hope that like Erin, it will help you through your own grieving process.

Animal companion loss is a difficult passage in our society. It seems you are alone, and too many people don’t seem to understand why you are so completely devastated. You’re expected to simply “get over it” and “get another one” – as if your beloved animal friend was a toy and easily replaced. This is what Erin experiences, too.

And then she meets a man, the one person who really understands why she can’t function normally – or be around horses like she used to.
