Heart Behind the Story by Writer/Director Billie Dean |

After he died, Sollie gifted me this story from the spirit world, and urged me to write it. It’s the story of how Erin, an ordinary, big-hearted woman journeys through her grief over the loss of her animal companion – in this case, her horse – and finds wholeness and happiness through the path of the ancient mysteries. Despite grief being a springboard from which Erin journeys, Mystic Hearts is far from depressing or sad. It’s a celebration of the human spirit, with humour, music, heart and soul. It’s a tale from our hearts to yours. Perhaps, like Erin, you will learn a bit more about animal spirituality. I hope that like Erin, it will help you through your own grieving process. Animal companion
loss is a difficult passage in our society. It seems you are alone, and
too many people don’t seem to understand why you are so completely
devastated. You’re expected to simply “get over it”
and “get another one” – as if your beloved animal friend
was a toy and easily replaced. This is what Erin experiences, too.
Mystic Hearts is a film for anyone who has loved and lost an animal
companion, for anyone interested in the ancient mysteries, and especially
for anyone who loves horses.. . . . . .
